Mark 2:22 Old Wine in New Bottles and
New Wine in old Bottles...results in tear down

So, I told them the context of school bags and school books.  Now that their books are used, some are torn and some remain untouched.  Their school bags are worn out of their careless usage, as children generally, always do.. I remainded of them, their school days in the next academic year, which would start on 7 June 2019.  Some of them felt very bad and sad as they had to go to school again, ofcourse, some others felt happy as they would learn something new... and the discussion ensued...

I told them of how they would get new books, new bags and all new dresses and the like., and told the, not to put new books in old bags as the old bags,  as they are already torn and would not be able to bear the weight of new books, the bag would tear down, while they are running for school bus or auto, the bag may tear down on the road, all the books will fall away, and their new books will become dirtier in the very early academic days.  Also, told them that they should be using the same dirty books through-out the new academic year.

As the days go by, in the new academic year, I also told them,  after they frequently use their books, the books, they turn older and may be torn mid-way.  So, donot attach new paper to old paper as new paper will be stronger than old paper and would tear away the whole page.  Likewise, donot use old paper to join new papers as the old paper is already weak, and hence it cannot hold new paper tightly.

The children were well impressed and they enjoyed the session.  Thank God, without their knowledge, they could spend nearly 2 hrs in the session, without much disturbance.  Now, When I ask them about Mark 2:22, they immediately respond saying, donot put new books in old bags and old books in new bags...

Firstly, I thank God for the help, to explain Godly lesson in their terms...

My Objective: to instill in children the practical applicability of Bible in their day-to-day lives...

This context is from family prayer, where I had 5 children with me, three of them are from one of my tenents and the rest are from my own. They are from LKG to Class IV and I had to explain them, what Mark 2:22 is...

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

It sounded very difficult to me, where I had to speak to them of wine, that too, old wine and new wine..., Old garment and new garment...

This summer, and these children are literally celebrating their vacation...

In our family prayer reading, we came across the daily reading portion Mark's Gospel, 2nd Chapter and 20 - 30 verses (daily we read ten verses to read and then, it is for me to explain children what the context and the respective content is...)

Please Stop, and imagine, what would you have done to explain them this context, to the children who donot know what old wine is and what new wine is...  and their impact on bags used to store... and then continue to read, so that you can appreciate the contrast...
